borrowed a ‘66 E-Type back in the 80s (inline 6), and if I got 9mpg thrashing it, that was a lot. a stunning car.

What did you think of the shifting action of the manual, as far as feel and general behavior? One of the biggest reasons I’m ordering a GT350 instead of a GT is because I’ve heard so many complaints about the Chinese-built Getrag MT-82 in the GT whereas the Tremec TR-3160 in the GT350 has received nothing but universal praise from everyone .

Ooh great question. I thought both had the same trans. I did not notice anything out of the ordinary, but I’ll look up some complaints and see if I related to anything.

Not exactly. I was nervous about putting it in line lock and the guy finding out. I did spin the tires plenty though :)

I never had an issue in the two I owned with the MT82. Lots of people that drove mine complimented the transmission

Same here. Any and all complaints I’ve seen are on forums and the interwebs. I’ve personally never heard or witnessed anyone complain .

Comparing it to a Challenger/Charger, feels compact. After sitting in my FIL’s Nissan Sentra, GINORMOUS! I have a big frame, but did not feel cramped inside, but the long hood and small-ish windows made me feel like the vehicle was twice as long as it is.

Have Mustang GT. Can confirm. Much fuel.
But none of it matters when I drop the top, put the active exhaust in sport mode, and mash the go pedal.
In my best David Attenborough narration voice: “Notice the Mustang resting in it’s natural habitat, re-feeding on the preferred energy of long-dead dinosaurs . While many competitors will happily run across the plains and highways of America on lesser octane fuels, the GT is a magnificent beast. It will only rear and buck it’s happy head if it has filled it’s belly with the highest octane, most expensive gasoline available . The owners of such rare and powerful beasts have forsaken the coming onslaught of fuel efficient hybrid and electric steeds for the ever present power and majesty of eight cylinder fuel consumption. The end may be near for these large and inefficient species of transportation, but while they still run, and while man can still purchase the ever dwindling resource called “gas” - these beautiful cars shall roam free”
